The slower your defenders the deeper the defensive line needs to be. If you have a tall forward try setting him as a target man. Once you’ve chosen a formation give it at least 5 or 6 games for the players to get used to it. Also, obvious things like don’t be too adventurous away from home or you will be punished. One thing I like to do is identify the opposition’s best player and man-mark him out of the game. Try not to set creative freedom too high as the players will end up all over the place. However I find that a quick tempo, short passing and attacking mentality is usually best. ![]() It’s like real football you have to assess the strengths of your team. ![]()
